I don't want to...

If I never hear these words again, it'll be too soon! This is Sean's new favorite phrase. This and "but I want it right now". These two phrases are enough to drive a person crazy. It's funny because I called my mom on Friday right after Sean woke up from his nap and she asked what we were doing. Spongebob was on tv when he woke up, so he was watching it. She said, "don't let that baby watch Spongebob, can't he watch Caillou or something?". To which I replied, "Caillou says stuff like, 'but I don't want to' and 'but I want it right now'. " Spongebob may be gross & say words like "jerk", but I'm almost thinking I'd like that better...

Friday night, Max, Livie & Austin spent the night. Sean and I came to Grandma's work to pick her up. Then we picked up Jason and headed to Plymouth for the Ice Festival. It was fun to see the sculptures, but exhausting carrying Sean around, not to mention COLD! When we got home, we put together the space station train track that Uncle Mike, Aunt Nicole, Max, Livie, Austin & Jackson got Sean for Christmas. It's awesome. Saturday morning, the kids went to Chuck E. Cheese with Aunt Mary & Scott while I went to my jazzercise class. Mike & Nicole brought Jackson and Grandma came up there too. After CEC, we went home & Grandma Sue & Grandpa Larry came over. That night we went to the Mach's for small group. Sean colored me LOTS of Thomas pictures. We had a busy weekend, so after church on Sunday, we just hung out & did stuff around the house.

We're still working on potty training. Sean's still a little leary about the whole thing, but all in good time, right?

Pee Pee on the Potty

Thursday night, after Jason left for bowling, Sean and I layed down. I gave him an early bath, so he'd already had his diaper on for about an hour or so before we layed down. I asked him if we needed to change his diaper because he kind of smelled like pee. He said no, of course. So then I asked him if he wanted to sit on his potty. He said yes & jumped up. I took his diaper off, he sat down and after thinking about it for a little bit, he actually peed in the potty! He's sat on his little potty chair before, but he's never peed in it. So, we were jumping around, dancing. We called daddy, Grandma & Puppa, Grandpa Jim, Grandpa Larry & Grandma Sue and Aunt Susie. He'd talk into the phone & say, "my went potty - now my no sleep now". He was more excited about staying up a little longer than he was about peeing in the potty. :)

Friday, Grandma Sue & Grandpa Larry brought Sean a choo-choo train for his big achievement. After that, Grandma & Puppa came over while me & Jason went to meet Riley & Ella (Glenn & Amanda's twins) for the first time. They also brought Sean a prize for peeing on the potty. They also brought him a "you went on the potty" card. I can't believe they make those! Saturday morning, I went to jazzercise and Sean hung out with Mary and Scott. We didn't do anything the rest of the day. The weather was terrible. Suprise! Sean's been sick all week, so we didn't go to church yesterday. Last night, Sean hung out with Grandpa Jim while we went to our friends, Jenny & Paul's baptism.

Sean's been OBSESSED with Dani lately. He's constantly hugging & climbing on her. She's such a good girl. She happily endures his rough displays of affection...

Snow snow go away!

We are getting HAMMERED by snow this winter. Seems like we get a day of snow once or twice a week. I haven't seen my lawn in weeks! Oh, wait, we did have one 60 degree day that melted the snow. Michigan...

Sean woke up with a seal in his throat this morning. He told Grandma that it kept "arfing". He's affectionate towards me, but usually when he's tired or upset or sick, he's won't let me out of his sight. He didn't want me to put him down this morning. Poor guy. Susie said he's had a good day though. A runny nose, but he's in a good mood.

Friday night it was snowing (suprise!), so we just stayed in. Grandma Sue & Grandpa Larry came by to bring Sean a collapsing bridge. I made dinner and we played choo-choo trains. It was a bath night, which is becoming a battle of wills at our house. I had to pack up the trains and threaten to throw them away before Sean gave in last week. Friday was a little better, but not much. And forget about clipping his toe nails...you'd think you were torturing him. I hope this phase passes, quick! Saturday, we went to breakfast with Aunt Mary. Then, I had a baby shower & baptism. We were suppose to go to the Mach's house, but it just kept snowing, so we decided to post-pone. Saturday night, Sean stayed with Grandpa Jim while me & Jason went to Mary's for a game night. I am the catch phrase champion!!!! Sunday, Jason had a bowling tournament and I taught both services at church. Sean went to first service & then ran the halls with Grandpa Jim until I finished with 2nd. Grandma brought a motorized Diesel 10 to church for Sean. He took it in the kitchen to show Aunt Susie, he took it in the nursery to show everyone there... He LOVES Diesel 10. We watch "Thomas and the Magic Railroad" a hundred times a day and we've read the book "Diesel 10 Means Trouble" at least 40 times since last Thursday. Sean had 2 take along Diesel 10s - 1 for Mommy's house and 1 for Susie's house. Well, the pinchy or claw on the one broke off & Sean was DEVASTED. After that episode, my mom bought 2 more take along Diesel 10s, for back up. He takes that thing EVERYWHERE and no matter what new train he gets, Diesel 10 sleeps with him at night. Sunday night was FX. Sean loves the music and he loves driving the bus!

Winter blues

The holidays go by WAY too fast!!! We had a great Christmas. Sean loved leaving cookies & food out for Santa & his reindeer. He's was in awe when he woke up Christmas morning and the food was all gone. He "knew" that Rudolph had been there. Everything he opened Christmas morning got an "oh wow" or "oh boy". He really likes getting presents and it was a major disappointment to him when that stopped. I can understand where he's coming from, I just wish I didn't have to deal with the tantrums & such. The world revolves around Sean. We must find a way to break this or at least start easing out of it. We went to Aunt Pam's Christmas Eve, Grandma & Puppa came over Christmas morning, we went to Grandma Sue & Grandpa Larry's for breakfast after that and we finished the evening with Grandpa Jim coming over for dinner. New Years Eve, Jason and I went bowling with Mary & Scott. Sean stayed with Grandpa Jim. New Years day, Sean & I went to my mom's house. Good thing because he was supposed to go back for some lasagna later that day and ended up sleeping for 3 1/2 hours and missing the visit! Friday night, Sean & Daddy went to dinner with Grandma Sue & Grandpa Larry. Sean loves HuHot!!! Saturday morning we went to breakfast with Grandma, Puppa & Aunt Mary. That night, we went to the Linenger's house for some old small group fellowship. Sean was in heaven!!! Kevin had tons of wooden trains & track. Megan put together a huge track in the basement and Sean was lovin' it! Yesterday we laid low for most of the day. Tried to get things in order before we had to go back to work. :( We went to Connor's 3rd birthday party at Rainforest Cafe at night. Sean LOVED it!!! He kept Grandpa Jim busy.

Have I ever mentioned that Sean's the smartest kid alive? :) He seriously knows ALL of his Thomas trains. The ones he has, the ones he doesn't. Well, on Friday night, we was watching a video and in the video, Douglas (one of the Scottish twins) is pushing a brake van. He starts to ram into it and the brake van says, "Don't do that! Don't you know I'm essential?!?". So Sean says, "My no have essential, my need essential". He doesn't know that the train's name is "brake van". Just this morning he said to me, "mommy, you get me essential?". I love him...
