Keep on the sunny side

The weather has been amazing and Sean LOVES playing outside. I wonder how that's gonna play out when it's 95 degrees...yipes! So far, we've been blessed with lots of 60-75 degree days which is perfect.

Mother's Day weekend - Friday, 05/08, Jason took the day off work. I went to the Gerace's to get the triplets off to school & then came home & got ready for our night away. We packed and then went to the zoo. The weather was perfect, warm & breezy. After the zoo, we headed to Grayling. Sean had a rough time during the 3 hour drive. He didn't nap (which was the plan), so that didn't help. Once in Grayling, we swam, played shuffle board, played on the jungle gym, played video games, ate dinner, went to a 50's diner/soda shop, swam more, played more & so on. Sleeping didn't go so well, but the rest of the trip was awesome. We came home on Saturday and shortly after, went to the Mach's. After the Mach's, Sean & I went to Stephanie's house to celebrate her graduation from nursing school. Sean was very clingy, but enjoyed his time with the kids (if I was right there with him). Sunday, we went to Maranatha for the kiss & a rose ceremony. Sean gave Grandma Sue her rose, but immediately took it back. :) We had a nice lunch with Grandma Sue & Grandpa Larry. After our nap, Sean & I went to Grandma & Puppa's for dinner. Daddy stayed home because he wasn't feeling good. On our way home, I called Jason and he said he was just waking up. When we got home, the whole house was clean (he even did laundry!!!). What a wonderful Mother's Day! Also, Grandpa Jim & Daddy helped Sean make recorded cards for me, Grandma & Grandma Sue. They were very special.

I picked up Sean's pictures from school on Monday. What a gorgeous boy, if I may say so myself. Tuesday, I went to Aunt Mary's and Daddy, Grandpa Jim & Sean went to the park & to get a slurpy. On Thursday, we met the Wilsons & Murphys for dinner at HuHot. Sean loves ringing the gong! Friday we picked up Ms. Christie & Chase and went to the zoo to see Dinosauria. Sean like the dinosaurs but was a little shaken when one spit water at him. He loves telling the story about that. Friday night Sean went bowling with Grandma & Puppa while me & Daddy went to a bowling fundraiser with our small group. Saturday morning we went to breakfast with Grandma and then to the DIA with Grandma, Ms. Gretchen & Ms. Jo. Sean picked out a bottle cap magnet with an angel on it because he's an angel (with wings!). :) After Sean's nap we went to Carter's 1st birthday party. After the party, me, Sean & Daddy went to a Tigers game. The best we've been to so far. Sean rode the carousel 4 times, watched the game & we even stayed for the fireworks. It was awesome. On Monday, 05/18, Grandpa Jim picked Sean up from Aunt Susie's and they went to Grandma Sue & Grandpa Larry's for bacon. Daddy & I met them there before going to Monday night nursing home crafts. Sean stayed all day at school on Tuesday and was very ready to come home by the time I got there to pick him up. That night, we played outside, walked around the block and then walked to get an ice cream. Sean in the wagon & Dani on her leash. It was a fun family night. Last night, Sean helped Puppa with his garden & then stayed with Grandma while me & Daddy went to the Tigers game with Marty & Val for Marty's birthday.

Sean loves playing NickJr games on the computer and can navigate them all by himself. The other night, I pulled up the website and got him started playing Max & Ruby. Before long he was watching Wubb Girlz: Wubb Idol. He found it himself. He's so smart!

We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo...

Last week I ordered a zoo pass. $50 for a year and that includes (2) adult admissions, free parking every time & 10% off at the gift shops. Plus, members have their own special entrance, which can really be an amazing thing. We got our money's worth last weekend alone!

Last Friday, me, Sean, Grandpa Jim & neighbor Nicole met Annette, Connor & Lexi at the zoo. It was the PERFECT zoo day. High 60s, sunny & breezy. We had an awesome time. Sean took a little spill at lunch, but of course, he bounced back quickly. Friday night we went to Aunt Mary's house. Grandma was there, so Sean did great as long as she gave him her undivided attention. Because that was almost impossible after a point, daddy came & got him around 8:30 to avoid further meltdowns. He went home & ate a bunch of daddy & Grandpa Jim's chicken planks from Long John Silver's. Daddy said he was crabby because no one fed him. Right... Saturday, I went to the Maranatha Mother/Daughter Banquet with Mary, mom & Sue. While we were there, daddy, Grandpa Jim & Sean went back to the zoo. Saturday night Sean stayed with Grandpa Jim while we went to the Tastefest at church. Mmmmm... Sunday was church, nap, putt putt then FX. Tuesday, Annette dropped Connor off after work and me, Jason, Sean & Connor went to McDonalds, putt putt and the park. Sean was sad that Connor had to go home; he wanted him to come stay the night. Wednesday we did our regular grocery shopping and then brought Grandma's ipod cord to work. We stayed for lunch & Sean told Ms. Jo the Easter story with the resurrection eggs. He also told the Wild Things story and listened VERY intently to Grandma's summary of the Wizard of Oz. He was SO into the story that when she said the lion ROARRRED, he almost jumped out of his chair. :) He's spent today with Aunt Susie, playing at the beach. What a life... :)
