I "no wike" either of these phrases. The last week has really been an eye-opener to the world of the terrible twos! I hope I survive it, lovingly & patiently. ;)
Last Friday, Sean and I were suppose to stay the night with Annette & Connor. It was the eve of Annette's wedding and the boys get along oh so well. Annette ran to her neighbor's house and while she was gone, Sean got put in time out (yet again) for throwing a toy because he didn't get his way. When Annette came back, I said, I'm not sure this is going to work. Just then, she noticed my eye was swelling. So, we had to go home. Probably better for Sean, because I have a feeling he would've spent a lot of time in time out. Saturday, I was gone most of the day for the wedding. When Sean saw me try my dress on the night before, he said, "mommy, you look like a princess". So, when I was leaving him that morning, I told him to take a nap and when he woke up, princess mommy would be home. I said this because I thought the idea of me being a princess was a good thing to him. Well, I came home after the ceremony to pick up Jason and then we went to the reception. Sean stayed with Grandma and she said he had a hard time falling asleep. Sunday morning, Sean climbed into bed with me and said, "I no wike princess mommy, just regular mommy". I guess the whole princess thing kind of worried him. Sunday we went to Jack's 2nd birthday party and then to the Mach's for small group. Yesterday, we had a busy day filled with lots of stores which meant that Sean wanted lots of stuff. That probably didn't help with the whole terrible two behavior. We met Grandma at Olgas last night where Sean threw a HUGE fit because he couldn't open a greeting card he found in my purse. Grr... But, at the end of the day, he's my cuddly, loving little boy. I love this age, but it's so frustrating sometimes!
Grandpa Jim's been picking Sean up from school the last two weeks while Susie was in Brazil. I'm sure Grandpa & Sean have enjoyed their time together, but we're all glad that Susie landed safely this morning and we're all happy to have her home. Today is Grandma's birthday, so Sean called this morning to say "feliz cupleanos" (he loves Dora). Happy Birthday Grandma!
